Montottone: In 1405 it was ruled by Ludovico Migliorati After his death the castle was submitted to the Rector of the Church of Marca and in 1433 it was subject to Francesco Sforza. In 1537 Pier Luigi Farnese organised in Montottone the Ecclesiastical State in Agro Piceno under the Government of Cardinal Farnes.

A peaceful period of time followed and helped the production of many works. Since 1968 every August there is a musical festival called “La Brocca d’oro”.
Its name recalls the flourishing handicraft typical of the area based on the use of clay and the work of potters.
This job dating back to XIII century is so deep-rooted in the village that the municipal administration has organised with the help of the local Scuola Media a ceramics Museum where the traditional “cocce” are on display.
They represent the basic element of the local economy. S.Peter’s Church overlooks Piazza Marconi, in the centre of the village, also well known as Piazza Castello. Inside there is one of Vincenzo Paci.
